Getting Started
How do I start a basic timer?
- Open the Timers tab
- Choose Count Down or Count Up
- Dial in hours, minutes, and seconds
- Tap Start — the rings drain as time passes
What do the rings mean?
TimerMinder’s signature look is a set of contrasting rings around a digital readout:
- Outer to inner = hours · minutes · seconds
- Short timers show fewer rings, so a glance tells you what’s left
- Prefer a different look? Open the settings menu (slider icon) and pick a
Timer Style: Bezel Rings, the GraLab-style Analog Dial, or draining Pills
How do I save a timer I use often?
- Set it up on the Timers tab
- Tap the bookmark icon (top-left)
- Choose Save Current and give it a name (e.g. “Laundry”)
- Run it anytime by tapping ▶ next to it
To remove saved timers, swipe left on one, or tap Edit to select and delete several at once.
Modes
How does Repeat work?
Set a single timer and repeat it up to 99 times. Choose Auto-start next for back-to-back
cycles, or Tap to start next to begin each one yourself. A “3 of 6” counter shows where you are.
How do I run a Pomodoro?
On the Pomodoro tab, choose how many sessions (1–5), name each task, and set its work and
relax minutes (25 / 5 by default). Pick Auto-flow or Tap between, then Start.
The header flips between work and relax as you go.
Can the phone go into Do Not Disturb during a Pomodoro?
Apple doesn’t let any app switch Focus on for you. The reliable way to get it automatic:
- Open Shortcuts → Automation
- Create a Focus automation: “When [your] Focus turns On → Start a Pomodoro”
Now turning on that Focus both silences your phone and starts the session. You can also just say
“Hey Siri, start a Pomodoro.” Timer-end alerts are marked time-sensitive, so they still come through.
For Photographers
What is Camera Sync?
A large, high-contrast clock showing the current network time down to the tenth of a second. Photograph it
with each camera body, then align your cards by timestamp afterward (e.g. in Photo Mechanic). Tap the time to
hide all on-screen controls for a clean shot, and pick from four schemes: White/Black, Black/White,
Night-Vision green, and Night-Red.
What is the Darkroom timer?
A dedicated count-down with a continuously sweeping hand and safelight-friendly faces: black with an orange
hand, a white face with a red-tipped hand, night-red, and night-vision green. It keeps the screen awake while
it runs.
Alerts, Themes & Privacy
Will it alert me if the app is in the background?
Yes. When you start a timer, TimerMinder schedules a local notification so you’re alerted even if the screen is
off or you’ve switched apps. The first time, you’ll be asked to allow notifications. Choose your sound under
Alert Tone (Default, Ding, Chime, or Beep).
What are the night and color-blind modes?
From the settings menu you can switch the whole app between System, Light, Dark, Night (Red),
and Night Vision looks, plus a Color-Blind Safe switch that re-maps the ring
colors to a high-contrast, color-blind-friendly palette.
Where is my data stored?
Entirely on your device. TimerMinder has no accounts, collects no data, and works fully offline.
Does it work on iPad and Mac?
Yes — TimerMinder is one universal app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
